Hi Alex, I've just put the Linksys SGE2000P through its paces. It is a good switch and gives my end-customers Gig-E (why do they need it?).
Some points (good and bad): - ports 11, 12, 23, and 24 will disable if SFP ports 1, 2, 3 or 4 are in use (respectively, i.e.: using SFP 3 will disable port 23). They are "shared" ports. - stacking two switches will give you only 46 end-user ports - switch management via the GUI is tedious when compared to Cisco CLI - editing a backed-up config file on your PC and uploading it to the switch is possible but seems flaky. - you can nominate which VLAN number will be untagged (native) - you can run an IP phone and hang a PC off the back of it, on different VLANs - Linksys phone support is great HTH. Cheers, Dave. _________________________________ David Steele Director of Network Product 905 403 3434 AGILITY RECOVERY SOLUTIONS Business As Usual. We were considering SRW248G4P (from linksys): http://www.voipgizmos.com/shopexd.asp?id=444 .. but it only powers up 24 out of 48 ports. Any other good switches with 48 POE ports out there? Thanks. P.S. For now we've figured stacking 2 of D-Links (D-Link DES-1228P). 24+24. -- Alex Kovalenko 877.585.VOIP 514.907.3192 ext. 701 http://www.VoIPGizmos.ca Canadian VoIP Store "IP Phones, FXS Adaptors, PBXs, Digium cards, and more..." --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
