We lost one of our teeny, tiny American Blackbelly twins. He kept escaping into the llama pen and had to be chased back to their pen through the gate. Thursday during the night he got out and couldn't get back to his own pen. My husband found him curled up in the llama pen, dead. This morning I noticed that momma was not looking very good. She keeps getting skinnier and skinnier. I did figure out how to tell her and the other ewe apart, whew. This is not the same one that abandoned her baby last year. This is the good momma. Everytime I feed her cob, since she had the lambs, she gets diarhea. She eats. I took the remaining lamb away from her and am bottle feeding him. I gave her a shot of antibiotic and a vitamin B shot (thought it couldn't hurt). I wormed her yesterday. I also did the vinager drench to her. I guess just have to wait and see how she does. I don't want to lose her, she is a good momma. I may be getting rid of the other ewe, she had the one lamb last March, that she abandoned, but hasn't had any lambs since.
