I wish I could get some of those good proces for my hay. I had to sell
mine for $30 a bale thru the new local feed store to get it sold.

I waited 28 years for retirement eligibility and spent the past 6 years
trying to build up a healthy flock. I had planned to retire in January and
I would have enough lambs going to market at about $.90/lb to be able to
still maintain a reasonable lifestyle..

I checked with the other sale barn about 20 miles away at ElReno. They have
a small sale every Wednesday. Yesterday 25 to 45 lb lambs brought $.70 and
3to 4 yr ewes brought about $45/head.

Even with the drought, Cattle are still going up. With the emphasis on
Goats, sheep are not as popular as they were 2 years ago... I just got
caught in a big sale where the sheep buyers left and the buzzards hung
around. I have a hard time accepting the fact that I could have given half
of them away and still been ahead....

Just gotta find another market...
