You might consider in-line heat tape if you have a power source by the water source. You would string it inside the garden hose (although I would switch from garden hose to black poly; it heats up faster in the sun and is much less expensive than hose). I use this heat tape in my rabbit watering system. It works well until the temps drop below 0 F. I ordered this tape at http://www.bassequipment.com/autowater3.htm. It is not cheap. You didn't say how long each garden hose was. If you are using 100-ft hose, you will need to take out a second mortgage to pay for the tape.
