I too raise horned stock. I did have a registered polled ram. All his offspring were weak and unthrifty. So basically his heirs were all eliminated. Some died (sickly) and some were slaughtered. I actually prefer the horned stock. They seem to be more hardy and even though they are a bit more flighty, at least they have good "handles" to grab hold of them. I love the "look" of these sheep. Especially the "clean" and no shear quality. (I had "woolies" and the shearing was a pain in the "butt"). The meat is wonderful, and that is the main reason I have them. By the way.....when they make it to the dinner table ----THE HORNS ARE GONE!!! LOL.
