The zoo backs up to the road I live on... about 3 miles south of me.
I was last out to feed & water the sheep on Sunday, and everyone (Jenny the donkey, 11 sheep & 2 peas) was ok.
I guess I am going to have to call the zoo tomorrow & find out what they meant by 'escape' and what sex the wolf was.
I am nowhere near a wolf expert... but... I'm thinking, he/she would be hanging close to the pack (which is still in their enclosure) if he/she felt he was a significant part of the pack?
BUT... if the escapee is a low ranking he-wolf? Could he go looking to start his own pack?

WOLF ESCAPES FROM BINDER PARK ZOO
One of the endangered Mexican gray wolves at Binder Park Zoo escaped early Saturday morning, a press release from the Battle Creek zoo said today. The wolf apparently found freedom through a small hole the animals stretched in their exhibit fence. “We are very distressed by this event and are working hard to get the animal back,” said Greg Geise, Binder Park Zoo, president and chief executive officer. He said the animal should not be considered a threat to people in the area. If community members have any information regarding the location of the animal, contact Binder Park Zoo at 979-1351 ext. 162.
