Well it's my turn to speak. Have been reading for days on the topic. I vote to keep the name the same - Barbados Blackbelly - and have 2 varieties - horned and polled - that's my choice. I like the sound of the name - I like what it stands for - I like my animals. I think that they are wonderfully, gorgeous, graceful animals whether polled or horned.
As far as conformation of specific characteristics, I think JAmes has a good idea - that we should send pictures of our sheep to the BBSAI - so we can see just exactly what everyone has and if they are BB or not. I know that technically our ram wouldn't be able to be registered due to his 2 white socks on his back hocks. That's all right - I love him anyway and will continue to have him breed the ewes. Not every lamb he has has white on it. We know that Boots is at least 90% BB. I also agree that if you are raising horned BB's - ewes should be allowed to have scurs. I also believe that we have to all work together on this. I think I will take some more pictures and send some to the BBSAI - can't hurt a thing. Sue
