well i will keep watching. this sheep birthing is harder on the mind than foaling, but then we have more to watch. i also have a ewe that is 1/2 bb and 1/2 ????. I think it is dorset. She had twins this year. one solid white and one all white with a big brown spot on his butt and roan throughout. Mom was great with the all white but refused the other. we have raised him. i was also wondering if she will throw white always or will it change. oj

We are so excited because we have had a wonderful year with our sheep. We purchased our first BB last May. Two of the ewe's were suppose to be pregnant and one ewe came with a 4 day old, also purchased a white ewe lamb that was 2 months old. She was the out cast of the group so she immediately had a special place with us. We were told she was BB/doll (spelling is incorrect but don't have my paper here to know correct sp sorry) any way she is white. Only one of the ewe's had a lamb, we didn't know if the ewe that didn't lamb was ever going to, but we figured oh well if she doesn't she'll still eat weeds. In August we purchased our first ram. He serviced all the ewes and hears the great part: we have 6 lambs this year ~ 5 ewe lambs and 1 ram lamb. Have I said we were pleased : ) The white ewe were told is a Corsican, we were told when you cross two breeds you get a white. Does any one know if this is true? She had a white lamb so sounds good to us. But if you think about it, the baby would be 3/4 bb 1/4 doll. Now breeding the ewe lamb back to a different BB will they always be white? Just wondering. Between our llama and our rifle the predictors have not taken any sheep off our farm, although it's been close. Our neighbor has lost quite a few.
