I got my guys to originally be weed eaters and to keep the pasture clean for the
horses. Read and spoke with people about them and started a small herd. Less than 10.
Due to the small amount of land the vet and other bb's owners recommended we keep
them wormed. Shots only if needed. (cuts, castration, etc. ) as for birthing. Outside
of wondering if our one ewe is pregnant my guys popped them out great. We did have
one bottle baby as momma just did not want twins and he is now the farm mascot. He is
definitely domesticated. Will probably have to do a few more things with him just
because. As for our ram, Bob, we do watch him but he has never been aggressive to us.
Is getting better about the babies but one of our ewes nailed him for picking on her
babies. I figured he is like a young stud. Will do what he wants until a mare tells
him otherwise. I personally like the bb's. They are wild yet we can handle them and
have even halter broke 2 of them. I try and let them!
be sheep. They keep the dogs at bay if they get to close to the babies yet get along
with the horses, cats, etc. oj

Just a thought and would be very interested in what others say on this
list;
One of the reasons we chose BB's, was the easy no special care aspects of
the breed. No worming or handle needed. Birthing was basically left for
the animal in the field. No foot disease, no shearing.

I've been reading on this list since we have subscribed to it, the
birthing problems, and worming problems, problems with aggressive rams,
and so on.

Do you think these sheep are being domesticated to much? and once they
are domesticated wont they have the same problems the woollies have
I'm wondering if to many people are raising this breed of sheep to be
domestic pets, not let them eat, birth and graze like they did in the
wild, with the exception or being watched ~ monitored or what ever you
want to call our maintenance of the animals.

Just a thought and look forward to different opinions.
And by no means do I intend to offend anyone.
