I always go out of my way to ensure that my rams don't want anything to do with me. I do not abuse them!!!! However, when they are very young I start flipping them on there back. It is unnatural and they hate it. I am a large fellow and even when they get to be near a hundred lbs I am capable of man-handling them. This serves to have them stay away from me and the other humans allowed in their pens ( my wife and grandsons). When I have to catch them, they are harder to capture but it is the price I feel I must pay for having them stay away. PS: This fear does not seem to be passed on to the ewes. I still can walk out and have them come right up to me while the ram and whatever weithers are here, head for the other end of the pen.
