Hi, everyone.  I'm new to this list but not new to raising sheep. I am new to having PINK-EYE, however!  I had sheep and goats off and on for many years and never had any pink-eye until now.

I read an old post that indicated that washing their faces with baby shampoo helped (cured?) it, so I have done that today.  Previously, I've put antibacterial salve in their eyes, washed their eyes with saline and  gave them Pen-G. Today, I also gave them a shot of oxy-tetracycline (sp?)  It seems to clear up for a while, then come back.  I have washed the feeders out with bleach almost every day (I can't wash the whole fence!).

Does anyone have any other ideas? Has anyone found a pink-eye VACCINE for sheep that works? I see plenty for bovine, but none specifically say sheep and one company I called said the bacteria that causes sheep pink eye is different from bovine.

Any guidance would be appreciated!!

Thank you,
Onalee
