I got a powder but haven't used it yet because I was told by a vet to use the salve. The powder was recommended by the diary co-op, it contains 0.2% nitrofurazone - is that the same powder that has worked well for you?
Thanks!!

Onalee;
Get in touch with your local vet or supply store. There is powder you put
directly into the eye for pink eye. Works great.

Hi, everyone. I'm new to this list but not new to raising sheep. I am
new to having PINK-EYE, however! I had sheep and goats off and on for
many years and never had any pink-eye until now.
I read an old post that indicated that washing their faces with baby
shampoo helped (cured?) it, so I have done that today. Previously, I've
put antibacterial salve in their eyes, washed their eyes with saline and
gave them Pen-G. Today, I also gave them a shot of oxy-tetracycline (sp?)
It seems to clear up for a while, then come back. I have washed the
feeders out with bleach almost every day (I can't wash the whole fence!).
Does anyone have any other ideas? Has anyone found a pink-eye VACCINE for
sheep that works? I see plenty for bovine, but none specifically say
sheep and one company I called said the bacteria that causes sheep pink
eye is different from bovine.
Any guidance would be appreciated!!
Thank you,
Onalee
