Join us November 12 - 14, 2004 for our first Bruce Fogt Herding Clinic to be held in southern Illinois. Bruce Fogt is a nationally-known stockdog trainer, 2-time winner of the USBCHA national finals herding championship, and author of the acclaimed training book, "Lessons From a Stockdog". The clinic is held at a small farm in orchard country just outside of Cobden, IL (90 miles southeast of St. Louis). The cost is $255.00 for the three-day Herding Clinic (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). The spectator fee is $25.00 per day (no spectator dogs, please). The Entry Form is below, between the two sets of * * * * * stars.
Working slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and are open to dogs and handlers with enough experience to safely work stock on their own. A deposit of $85.00 per dog and a signed Entry Form is required to hold the working slot entry, with the balance due on or before September 12th (see details on the Entry Form).
The stock are dog-broke Barbados sheep. There are three working areas: a 70 x 85 foot oval herding pen, a 100 x 200 foot arena with trial course obstacles, and a 4.5 acre field with course obstacles. Lunches are included in the clinic fee. There are motels, RV campgrounds and cabins within 10 minutes of the farm (a list is available upon request), and camping (no hookups) is available on the premises. The deposit and balance of fees are non-refundable after September 12, 2004 unless there is a person on a waiting list to take your spot. If full fees are not received by September 12, 2004, your spot may be given to an alternate on the list.
I will assume all responsibility, risks and hazards in connection with my participation in the above activities and specifically waive, release, absolve, indemnify, agree not to sue, and agree to hold harmless Mary Swindell, Bellwether Farm, Bruce Fogt, and their agents, associates and employees for any loss, damage or injury to me (including any persons visiting or participating in the above activities with me), any dog or other animal, or to any property arising out of activities at or in connection with Mary Swindell, or her employees, associates, and agents.
