Signs of a heavy worm load in sheep include:
*anemia
*scours (diarrhea)
*coughing
*weight loss
*potbelly
*woll break
*bottle jaw

Bottle jaw:
Visible swelling under the jaw and it's one of the last symptoms to manifest 
itself---so if you see it, consider it a final warning that the sheep have 
worms severe enough to cause deaths.

Valorie, are you sure the vet is correct re: low protein in your lambs?
