Good Morning,  The "members" of BBSAI were sent ballots already I believe on 
the question of a possible name change for Barbado sheep which are now 
registered with BBSAI as Barbados Blackbelly Horned.   Votes will be counted 
in Septermber at the Annual Meeting.  So campaigning might not work very 
well for you.  If you are a member then you should have cast your vote for 
what the board has worked so hard on.  I'm pretty sure pleasing all of the 
people all of the time is pretty rough.  As a member, you would have the 
chance to help with what is happening in the Barbado and Barbado Blackbelly 
world with BBSAI.  And in defence of Mr. Harper, he might have been away at 
one of his meetings to learn about  sheep health so he then could pass it on 
to us. If you want a say in the BBSAI registry, then might you think about

Bobbie, I couldn't get an answer from James Harper either about the vote;

Does anyone know if the BBSAI is planning a vote on a name change to
differentiate between horned and polled stock?  I heard through the
grapevine there was going to be one.  I contacted the BBSAI via their 
online
form with the question, with no reply.

Hi Bobbie,
The BBSAI cannot and is not suggesting that the Barbado breed name be
changed in general. To do so would be pretentious and make thousands of
Barbado breeders upset. The BBSAI is asking its members to decide on a name
to call those Barbado sheep that are registered with the BBSAI and meet a
specific breed standard.   The vote currently before the membership
is to select one of the following options:
Barbado (no change)
American Barbado
American Blackbelly
Votes will be counted at the annual meeting September 11/12.
