Sounds like the lambs won't get very big before slaughter!!!
I go by size and not weight. Usually that is about 3 months old or
generally right before weaning. We don't feed out lambs or calves for
slaughter. Everyone does things a little differently.
When I feed I use pans that I can dump out and are hard plastic. I have
found that sheep as well as goats will get in anything on the ground. There
are several folks here that hang a feeder from the rafters. Free swinging
pretty much eliminates getting into it.
Good luck,
Rhonda
