Attachments can often carry viruses, and I work hard to ensure that subscribers to this list are not exposed to viruses or spam. I also believe that attachments are an uninvited intrusion. They are like junk mail--you didn't ask anyone to send it to you yet you are stuck with the job of throwing it away. In addition, attachments take up storage space on people's harddrive and many people do not know how to delete them.
