Hi to everyone from snowy South Dakota,

We have finished lambing from our main flock the beginning of November. 1st ewe lambed the end of September with the final ewe lambing on my birthday, November 9th. We had 22 lambs from 11 ewes - one single, one set of triplets, and the rest twins. We lost 2 lambs at birth only. We are quite pleased at the results we had. We have 5 ewe lambs left and 6 ram lambs left. The rest have been sold and we have another person who wants to buy 4 more. We are hoping to keep a few ram lambs back to raise for our own curiosity as to what they will grow into!!!

Our 2nd flock with " rookie " ewes and ram have done well. There are 4 yearling ewes with Gonzales, the yearling ram. We had a ewe deliver a single lamb on November 15th. Then we didn't have anymore born til December 22nd and 24th. They both had twins but the ewe on the 24th must not have been able to handle it as one of the twins never made it out of the sack. It was torn open but still encased around the lamb. Wish I would have watched a little closer - oh well - never know with 1st time mamas. We have 1 ewe left to come in. So far 3 ewe lambs and 1 ram lamb. We are pretty sure that the 1st 2 ewes that lambed have been bred again so will se what May brings!!!!

WE feel we had pretty good results this fall - all are healthy anyway and that matters more than the number, the sex, etc. Just figured I'd put in our results for this fall.......... Sue Miller
