Subject: [blackbelly] hints on making mom's accept babies?
Date: Thu, 10 Mar 2005 21:30:37 -0500

I had a young mom have a set of twins today & she only accepted one.
I found the ewe lamb alone in the snow, cleaned off, but snow covered & VERY cold. I offered her my finger, the inside of her mouth was cccold.
I tried penning the mom & her babies up, but she didn't want the cold one.
I tried smearing some placenta from baby 2 on the ewe lamb... the mom didn't buy it.

Didn't I read some really clever idea for making a mom accept a baby? I can't find it saved anywhere.
I've given the baby some warmed up store bought goat milk.. and some Nutri Drench stuff.. molasses & vitamins.... I don't want a house sheep!

Help! Diane
