It's the question that evades you.
Blackbox is an X window manager. It uses the X libraries. It does not
use KDE or Gnome libraries, but any applications running under it may
require those libraries.

If it runs under KDE or Gnome, you can be reasonably sure it's run under
blackbox.

Sure there's a possibility. Depending on the program your mileage may
vary.
