Thanks for the reply, but ...

Cygwin idiosyncrasy (sp?):  If a user chooses *not* to install "ash",
[s]he gets the symlink exactly as you suggested.  If a user installs
"ash", it actually gets deposited as a real file called "sh" (at least
on my machine)

It would be cool if Blackbox worked in both cases.  The other alternative
would be to get the Cygwin people to do what you suggest, and install "ash"
as "ash" and not "sh".
