I would've personally though that the EWMH support in 0.70.x more than
makes up for the loss of bbtools, by allowing users to combine Blackbox
with a very wide variety of pieces from various desktop environments, not
to mention standalone software that also supports EWMH. Since 0.70.x I've
been able to experiment with half a dozen different panels and dozens of
applets for Gnome, KDE and third party utilities. I'd be hard-pressed to
think of a bbtool that doesn't have a counterpart as an applet or dockapp
of some kind.

Besides, perhaps the issue is stated backwards. Forgive me if I'm
wrong, as I'm not familiar with bbtools' code, but shouldn't the tools be
made compatible with 0.70.x, not the other way around? Why exactly aren't
the bbtools working with 0.70 anymore?
