If you are talking about blackbox-0.61 then indeed: Eterm will NOT use a bsetroot generated background for transparancy! (You explicitely have to use Esetroot). If you are talking about blackbox-0.62 I have not tried that yet. But I suspect that bsetroot from bb-0.62 behaves the same as bbsetroot from bb-0.61. It would be very nice if this could be fixed.
