Struts aren't positioned correctly when the toolbar and/or the slit are set to auto-hide. With toolbar at top-center, auto-hide on, there is a gap the size of the border between the edge of the toolbar (border) and the strut (or outside of window border when snapped)
With the slit, the strut simply does not update when auto-hide is on (strut at bottom-right) - ie windows still snap as if the slit was not auto-hidden. Matt.
