By default, it rescans every 10 minutes but it's up to each individual plug-in 
to decide whether or not something actually gets reexamined. If it doesn't pick 
up the change on its own, there are a couple of ways to force it to rescan. The 
easiest is probably to go into the Catalog preferences and find the Calendar 
source and click the refresh arrow at the bottom of the window.
