Funny you say this. The last update to Exim was by me. And it was because BLFS was being pressured by users to update. At that time I practically rewrote the instructions as the existing ones seemed so inadequate. Oh, they worked, but you had to know the package to make it work for you and make the appropriate customizations to the build. I'd like to think that the current instructions at least provide a way to build the package to user's desires.
