Yes, this is enough. You can always just recompile a single KDE package and install it over your existing installation. Another note: Two packages from Kdeedu (blinken and kanagram) also crash when fast-malloc=full is set (same error message about GSlice as arts). After leaving fast-malloc out, they work.
