It seems that people get "diagnostics" due to the absence of a Perl 
Module. They do not understand the root of the problem. An example is 
the difficulty in running "fontforge". The developer has all but given up.

The information on the page you mention is most valuable. Also, it does 
not seem to be generally known that Cpan is the place to visit. Why, for 
instance, do we have "/usr/bin/cpan" installed? Since LFS/BLFS is, from 
the outset, educational, this should not be a secret. Perhaps an 
additional  sentence (or two) in the book could make this clear.
