I am not really qualified to comment. I read the blog post and agree that it sounds as if Oracle is hiding some test cases. However, does this mean the MySQL product is not reliable, dependable, and free? I clicked on the "previous post" link and read another post and discovered this comment: "For the foreseeable future MariaDB will be an alternative to MySQL, not a first-class replacement." Now I know how comments from posters are, they are just as unreliable as any source of information. Bruce, which do you use now? I know you have supported apps that use MySQL, do you still? Have you used MariaDB in a production environment? -- Randy rmlscsi: [bogomips 1003.24] [GNU ld version 2.16.1] [gcc (GCC) 4.0.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.6] [Linux 2.6.14.3 i686] 17:32:01 up 4:36, 1 user, load average: 0.54, 0.32, 0.15 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
