I am doing exactly that, ie removing gnome-minor and temporarily replacing it with 3.14. It is just a bit of a pain having to re-add gnome-minor to the full gnome environment. The only other way is to make all the changes locally and then do a single comitt, but I really don't want to do all that work and find that I get a hardware issue that means I loose everything. Fact is, I had totally overlooked that gnome-minor was being used till I had submitted my changes and when the book rendered online the links were invalid.
