I am in the process of upgrading the DEVLOPMENT svn branch of BLFS to
gnome 3.14.0. As a result some links may seem invalid but they HAVE
already been corrected and if I make the global change it will render
the not yet updated packages links invalid as well as those already
upgraded.
To this end let this be a general heads-up/warning that if you use the
development branch you are doing so at YOUR OWN risk. You will need to
use the published STABLE link till the upgrade is completed.
I do the following: as I am updating, replace "&gnome-minor;" by 3.14
(presently, did the same with 3.13); at the end of the processes, change
gnome-minor to 3.14 and all 3.14 to "&gnome-minor;".
Thinking a little more about it, I think that, as you wrote in another
place, gnome-minor in the URL only complicates.
I am doing exactly that, ie removing gnome-minor and temporarily replacing
it with 3.14.
It is just a bit of a pain having to re-add gnome-minor to the full gnome
environment.
The only other way is to make all the changes locally and then do a single
comitt, but I really don't want to do all that work and find that I get a
hardware issue that means I loose everything.
Fact is, I had totally overlooked that gnome-minor was being used till I
had submitted my changes and when the book rendered online the links were
invalid.
Create a new entity, gnome-minor-14 and and use that where needed and
leave the old one alone.
