This is the same for the 'Prev' sub-title: if it is long and needs to be
broken in more lines, new ones are feint, e.g, click in 6.1.
Next is "Preparing Virtual Kernel File System" (I doubt Ken will notice
the "File System" in the third line - I missed it in my first inspections).
Prev is "Installing Basic System Software". Again, Didn1t notice
"Software" in my first inspection.
This is because they are 'en dégradé'. Is it a layer above, or the front
can be made 'en dégradé'?

Didn't understand this comment.

Sorry, I did read first posts from each one, not the followings, neither
the one I replied to. I had worked from 6 to over 22 hour, and couldn't
read fine by then (today, a couple of mistakes in my commit, due to
that, and will fix them later).
First time I saw the page, I liked very much.
After Ken's first comment, I realized there were problem, then went to
compare to the current book, and started thinking if we really wanted
the change.

Now, I think it is good having a maximum width, same old reason that
newspapers and books sometimes have more than one column. It would be
too much, asking for multicolumn when using in a large full screen mode.

I agree.
One minor point is that "Note", "Important" and "Warning" boxes in the
original have a coloured background. New one has a coloured bar at the
left. New one has better colour choice, but I'd rather they be not a
bar, but the background. This is because some of them are missed by the
user, worse yet if it is more subtle, just a vertical thin bar.
Overall, I like it and probably adapt well editing it.
My first reply was more in despair. I couldn't be quiet, but was not in
shape to write anything, yesterday.
My apologies to the French team that I do like very much and even
navigate in their site.
My thanks to the French team.
Please, think that in BLFS there are old people with weak eyesight
editing the books (I'm one of them). This can be not only a curse, but a
gift, because I think that who did the first page, if not a bright young
person, at least a bright person with perfect eyesight.
I believe that with Ken's detailed inspections and Bruce's deep
knowledge in many programming languages, we will get a much better book,
from the French major modification.
