Agreed. That's what I normally do. Other users prefer to be

for root. A display manager is needed for other users. I think it

That is not true.
You must run startx after you have recompiled systemd with logind support,
using the BLFS instructions for compiling systemd. You can run it as a
normal user.

after xorg-server is installed as in the book instructions. I think it should be
noted in the xorg-server page.
