Thanks, it looks like the proposed move to Sans got reverted, so no
change to the Cantarell text.

And again, thanks.  The default in gsettings-desktop-schemas is
Source Code Pro 10, so maybe an interaction with fontconfig picked
Monospace Regular.

I'll add a link for Source Code Pro to the TTF/OTF page although I
can see that it has much worse coverage than DejaVu Sans Mono (e.g.
no cyrillic, but I suppose gnome code has to be written and
commented in english).

For mousepad re gsettings desktop schemas I'll wait until someone
who has the current versions installed answers my earlier questions.
