Of course the nice thing about some of the older distros (I started with
Redhat 5.0) was how quickly they could be re-installed if you broke it.
At one point, I had it down to around 20 minutes to restore things from
the install CD if I broke something. Just as well, really, since I got a
lot of practice at it.

Interestingly, even a single-CD distro like Ubuntu can't install
anywhere near that quickly anymore... I wonder why, since the amount of
stuff on the CD isn't going to be much different.
