Yes, it is confusing. I, like you Matt, use the versions posted on GTK.ORG. Seeing how GNOME-2.12 is due to be released tomorrow, I can't imagine anything other than ATK-1.10.1 being the "stable" version. Only if the packages recommended by the GNOME team for the current release of GNOME differs from what is posted at GTK.ORG would I even consider using that.
