Yes, you can use the ROX Filer with any window manager. Right now I am
running it under icewm. But it works just as well under any that I've tried,
including metacity (GNOME), kwin (KDE), enlightenment, and others. The "ROX
Desktop" refers to a collection of several ROX applications, centered around
the file manager. But if you only want the file manager, just get the ROX
filer; it depends on GTK2 and a ROX-Lib package that can be had from the
site.
