Now I see what you are referring to (after seeing Ken's post). I thought
you were referring to placing the output of the date command into PS1
insteaed of actually calling date from PS1. Yeah, the `date whatever`
command will work. I'd prefer to use the facility provided via bash, but
this is certainly a second option that I will use if bash can't do it.
