Hi,
### Information ###
I'm following blfs-book-6.1 after than LFS-BOOK-6.1.
I'm on "Chapter 25. X Window System Environment" >
"Xorg-6.8.2".
To get rid of the dependencies i've installed:
- FreeType-2.1.10
- Expat-1.95.8
- Libpng-1.2.8
- Fontconfig-2.3.2
... with success as describing in related pages.
Now i have to install Xorg-68.2.
Here questions go:
### Question 1 ###
A note in Fontconfig says:
"X also includes an internal (and older) version of
Fontconfig and unless it is explicitly disabled
when building Xorg or XFree86, the internal version is
created leaving two slightly incompatible
libraries on your system. It is recommended that you
only install one version."
I have to be double sure if adding this line to the
host.def file resolves this issue:
#define HasFontconfig YES
If the answer to this question is "NO", i would like
to know the way to explicitly disable installation of
internal (and older) version of Fontconfig.
### Question 2 ###
In section "Installation of Xorg" > "Creating
'host.def'" says:
"..., but the included libraries for Fontconfig and
FreeType2 do not build properly on a base LFS system.
Therefore, you must specify that these libraries, as
well as others, should be imported from the system."
I would like to know how to import these libraries
from system while building Xorg?
### Conclusion ###
Thank you for your attention, and for your support.
Your respectfully,
Ali Servet DONMEZ
