Hi,
I've just installed XFree86 and KDE (core packages just now). So, as
said in the book, I configured the home directory with .xinitrc, where
I write:
exec startkde
I named my old .xinitrc as .xinitrc.old.
Maybe I didn't configure correctly something, because when I close my
KDE session, it displays:
GOT SIGHUP
xset: unable to open display ":0"
kded: cannot connect to X server :0
DCOP aborting call from 'anonymous-19423' to 'kded'
[...]
What are the errors I did? Did I forget something?
Looks like a normal exit from X to me. If you don't have a graphical
login, (kdm, gdm, xdm), then X will always report errors when you kill
it. Similarly, as X dies, kde's many processes and anything else that
was running on the desktop will find themselves unable to connect to the
X server, and write this in the log.
