Hi, compiling phonon-4.5.1 and the backends xine-4.4.4 and gstreamer-4.4.4 according to the BLFS book, I am suposed to install in -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=$QT4DIR, what is identical with /opt/qt-4.7.1.
Looking for the phonon-backends in system settings -> multimedia -> phonon -> backends, I get an empty list. This problem seems to be known, e.g. "http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=23591";. Making a soft link from $KDEDIR/share/kde4/services/phononbackends to /$QT4DIR/share/kde4/services/phononbackends solves this specific problem, the list shows now the backends. However, I cannot get any sound to play. It seems, that installing phonon and company in $QT4DIR generates problems. The post in the kde-forum shows some 20 phonon related files expected in $KDEDIR, which I would need to soft link ? Did I oversee something ? Any advice very appreciated ! Edgar -- Dr.-Ing.
