From time to time, errors from autoreconf are normal. In the latest versions of my BLFS scripts I see that autoreconf for py2cairo has '|| true' after it. That might relate to an older version, dunno. In general, if autoreconf -fi returns an error, try to build the package (unscripted) anyway.
