Thanks Jacob Station Ripper did not work for me in either guise as it kept on crashing every time I accessed a menu. However Screamer Radio seems an excellent an stable Freeware alternative and personally I have found it much easier to use than Station Ripper. You can do everything you need with keyboard shortcuts and I have happily saved some BBC programs as MP3 files. I'll use MP3DirectCut if I need to split anything.
A real find and it feels good that it is Freeware.
