Hi, Sarah. I'm one who signed your petition a month back. I'm in
agreement, however, that a few hundred signatures possibly might not make a
lick of difference. If there was a way to get many more signatures than
that, that would be more effective, one would think. But so far, I don't
sense that the powers that be at MySpace have us in mind at all.

You know, I can't remember what event prompted Google to finally add an
audio link for their graphic captcha. Something evidently had an effect
because Google showed signs of attempting to be more blind accessible. If
only MySpace would follow suit.

All I know is before we even register with MySpace, we are in trouble right
off the bat because of a graphic captcha. Then once we flag down sighted
help to get us beyond that roadblock, way too often, we are unable to add
people to our friends list and more importantly send other members any
email.--depending on other members' spam settings. It's so frustrating
because if there's one thing I'm not, that's spam.

Please note I'm not advocating any type of strong-arming (legal recourses or
otherwise). No no, just hoping for an effective way to prompt MySpace to
consider becoming a bit more accessible for us. We're being left out of a
huge on-line community.

On Behalf Of Sarah

True. I'll consider that. I might also do an online press release and see.
I'm new at this kind of stuff and believe it or not, it was a sighted person
who coaxed me in to doing this. There are some sighted users who signed in
favor of the audio thing as well.
Take care all.
Thanks.

I think worldwide myspace already has a few millions users. Lets take that
in perspective. Even if every person reading your
message right now signed the petition, I would doubt you would get more than
1,000 or so signatures. That wouldn't even be enough
to make the folks at myspace blink. If you are really serious about this you
may want to approach one the major blindness
organizations with your petition idea since they have the ability to reach
many times more people to solicit signatures. Once a
much larger signature base is derived you would probably want to approach
myspace's sponsors (check the ads on their page) first
before ever showing your hand to myspace.
Just my thoughts
Frank
