David, Tom, et al: What is possible is to turn the DHCP off on your router and specify a specific IP range. For example if you have four computers on your network you can set the IP range from 192.168.1.101 to 192.167.1.105. This will prevent the router from assigning IP addresses to computers. Any computer connecting to that router will have to have a fixed IP address in that specific range. However, this is not meant to be adequate security by any means. The secure a wireless LAN you should use encryption in the form of either WEP or WPA. Frank
