hi, yes those are the stupid captcha graphic images that are there to keep spambots away. why on earth they cannot simply use a logical question (for example, what 2 +2 equals?) on there, that can be heard as well as read and at the same time fullfill the same purpose, is beyond me. I have been to sites that use this method as well as sites that are using captcha with graphics but have an option to listen to the number code that is shown. you mentioned yahoo. nowadays you even have captcha there when you open an account, so that leaves blind people out or rely on a sighted person to help:(
