If you are not planning to use the wireless connection, go into the control panel and disable or remove any reference to the wireless NIC (network connections). Frank Ventura, MCP

I'm not using a wireless connection. However, about 2 years ago when I first purchased this computer, I did have a wireless Net Gear card installed, but it didn't work out. So I went back to the use of my ISP modem which is a SW1000/Gateway 2-wire model. So why would this thing be popping up in my system's tray? I just clicked on it for curiosity and was given 4 options... windows firewall settings wireless connection... repair... wireless network connections... I am using AVG pro version 7.50 which has it's own firewall. I went to the one in the list for windows firewall, and it is turned off. Which I believe it's suppose to be since I use AVG. So how can I get rid of this wireless thing for good?
