Dear Trish,
Yep!
That's it!

It was nice to use with Windows Media Player, and some other programs, a single key for up volume, down volume, fast forward, rewind, and other stuff, and some other programs I used it for, but I remember I accidentally hit those keys some times and found it more of a problem than what I was getting out of them.

I have a standard keyboard on this new computer.
Well, it is not really standard, something called a light touch keyboard, breathe on the keys and they react!
LOL!
Great for speed typist!
Which I modestly consider myself!
LOL!

Hi,

I found HP Multimedia keyboard software, would that be the one?

Dear Trish,
I have one of those keyboards on my second computer, and yes I disabled the "Special Additional Function Keys" By going into the Add / Remove programs section of my Control panel, and simply deleting the program that makes them function!

I do not remember what your HP keyboard calls the program, but you will know it when you see it!

Subject: [Blind-Computing] HP Keyboard Question

I was wondering if there's a way to disable the buttons above the function keys on my keyboard so they don't work? I was needing to shake out the keyboard because a pretzel stick got lost somewhere and when I did that, the speech went somewhere too. I pressed a button at the far right corner of the keyboard and discovered that to be like a button to silent jaws, which I just as soon that key didn't work. So would there be a way to make this key and the rest of them not to work by any chance?
And, no, I probably will not stop eating at my keyboard..

Patricia
