Linda,

That is not correct about having only one book at a time on the cartridges. I have one of those and just ordered 2 more and the one gb holds 10 books depending on size and the 2/gb I ordered will hold 20 books. The latest firmware for the players have the folders already on the cartridges as well as the, "audio+podcast which is required to place mp3 books into in order for them to play. I strongly recommend both of you consider joining this mailing list for all q/a on this subject and much more...

Hi,

I don't have a cartridge but here goes. You should get a usb cable with
the cartridge. You put one end on the cartridge and the other into a usb
cable on your computer. Now, bring up the book name like db whater and tab
until it says winzie submenu. Enter on winzip submenu and arrow down once
to where it extracts. You can set it to extract to whatever the letter of
your cartridge drive will be when you insert it into your computer. It
would probably be drive e or f. Then you have set it to exatract to that
drive, tab until it says okay and press enter. Remember, you can only have one book on the cartridge at one time. So delete whatever else might be on there and it will extract the right file. If you don't have winzip, you can
download it. You want to click on "use evaluation button."

Subject: [Blind-Computing] help witih nls cartridge-need directions

Hi, all: I'm trying to extract a downloaded nls book to my cartridge and am
getting nowhere fast. Does anyone have instructions? I tried
www.bard.loc.gov and i e said the page could not be found. I thought I had
saved some instructions during the winter when everyone was getting his or
her players but none can be found. I have 7 zip installed but maybe that
isn't a correct program. Thanks. Marilyn
