Hi Mark,
I have never seen drivers for a DVD drive. I'm sure some exists, but PCs I had; the drive just worked.

     Hi
I am on my backup laptop computer. It has several issues that I am
addressing but the one that is most noticeable at this point is that the DVD
drive quit working. I am using vista home primium and JAWS 11 latest release.
I went to play a cd and the computer did not show the DVD drive in the
computers listing of drives. So, i looked in the device manager and it says
that the driver is missing or corrupt. I told the computer to update the driver
and it says I already have the latest driver for the device. So, I went to
Google and tried to hunt down the manufacture of the drive and the driver for
it. I thought if I uninstalled the driver and installed a new one things would
start working again. Well, I never found the driver but I found an entire list
of websites complaining that the people have run in to the same trouble. So, I
went back in to the device manager and disabled the driver for now. My question
is considering how many people appear to be having this issue, is it worth
fixing the driver or should I just go out and get a different drive? If I
delete the driver will it automatically find the drive and install the newest
driver?
My DVD drive is an Optiarc DV RW AD-7530a ATA device.
      Thank you for your help.

God bless,
Mark
